Southern Arizona Education Council Promotes Countywide Back-to-School Backpack Distribution

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Southern Arizona Education Council has launched a new website connecting families with free backpack pickup locations and back-to-school events across Tucson, helping students begin the school year prepared for success.
This effort aims to expand access to free backpacks filled with school supplies through multiple City of Tucson ward offices while highlighting additional back-to-school events hosted by community organizations throughout the region. Families can choose the pickup location or event most convenient for them while supplies last.
Free Backpack Pickup Locations
Students may pick up a backpack filled with school supplies provided by the Education Council at the following locations while supplies last:

In addition to these pickup locations, families are encouraged to attend community back-to-school events throughout the Tucson-area, where organizations will be distributing school supplies, sharing educational resources, and connecting families with services before the start of the school year.

"No student should begin the school year without the supplies they need to succeed," said Rocque Perez, Chief Executive Officer of the Southern Arizona Education Council. "By partnering with local government and community organizations, we're making it easier for families to find free supplies and resources close to home."
